ChatGPT adds year-in-review, pins, image hub, and finer personality dials šŸŽ›ļø

ChatGPT is rolling out several updates: ā€œYour Year with ChatGPT, ā€ an optional 2025 recap showing conversation themes and usage stats (Free/Plus/Pro; requires Memory + Reference Chat History; English in select countries).

Users can now fine-tune personality traits like warmth, enthusiasm, emoji use, and formatting. Pinned chats are available across web and mobile for faster access. A revamped ChatGPT Images adds better generation/editing and saves creations to a dedicated ā€œMy imagesā€ page.

Google’s Gemini 3 Flash brings faster frontier AI to more users ⚔

Google is launching Gemini 3 Flash, a new Gemini 3-family model designed to deliver ā€œfrontierā€ reasoning and multimodal performance with much lower latency and cost.

It’s rolling out across the Gemini app (now the default), Search’s AI Mode, and developer/enterprise platforms like the Gemini API, Vertex AI, and Gemini Enterprise. Google says it’s 3Ɨ faster than Gemini 2.5 Pro, uses fewer tokens on average, and is priced at $0.50/M input and $3/M output tokens.

DOE lines up 24 partners for ā€œGenesisā€ AI-for-science push šŸ¤

The U.S. Department of Energy signed collaboration agreements with 24 organizations to support the Genesis Mission, a national initiative using AI to speed up scientific discovery, bolster national security, and spur energy innovation.

The effort aims to build scalable, architecture-agnostic AI infrastructure through public-private partnerships across labs, universities, nonprofits, and industry. DOE also opened two requests for information, with deadlines in mid- and late-January 2026.

Great prompt for ChatGPT - Design my ideal week.

First, ask me 5 quick questions:

  1. My main goal right now

  2. Work schedule (fixed or flexible)

  3. Energy levels (morning vs night)

  4. Biggest distractions

  5. Non-negotiables (gym, family, rest, hobbies)

If I say ā€œsurprise meā€, make smart assumptions.

Then give me:

• A Monday–Sunday schedule with time blocks
• Deep work vs shallow work separation
• 3 daily focus rituals
• Where to place breaks for max energy
• A realistic gym / movement plan
• One weekly learning slot
• One weekly reflection slot

End with:
• A one-page weekly checklist
• 5 common mistakes that ruin productivity
• A simple rule to follow when motivation drops
